kdeconnect-1.0.1 doesnt see android 1.4.4

Hello,

I had working kdeconnect in the past. However, it seems to be broken for
me at present. The desktop kdeconnect (1.0.1) running on Gentoo doesnt
see the android client 1.4.4. Funnily enough it does see the kdeconnect
installed (1.0.1) on my Arch Linux laptop. All these three devices are
on the same network without any firewalls.

Is there any way to find out what could be the issue?
