I'm fine with making some changes to the DBus API. Better now than later.

Unfortunately, the indicator-kdeconnect project is not actively
maintained, and didn't survive the transition from KDE 4 to 5. After
the next KDE Connect release I would like to fork that project to make
it work again, so it's probably fine if we break it a bit further.
