Restoring the screen after KDE restarts

I don't think the issue lies in saving window positions to disk; data gets
written to disk constantly these days, and I don't believe that’s a concern
for anyone anymore.

To me, the bigger hurdles have to do with restoring application states.
What kind of software do you run across those eight desktops?

For instance, over the past year, I’ve typically had a couple of dozen
terminal windows open for working with AI agents; even if KDE restores all
those Konsole windows across the various desktops, that—honestly—won't help
me recover my context at all.

Lately, I’m leaning more towards treating virtual desktops like separate
virtual machines—ones that don't need to be shut down but can instead be
saved to disk when the host system reboots. That way, state restoration
would be nearly perfect.
