Xvnc, XDMCP, and KDM ... oh my!

Does anyone have KDM working with XDMCP?

I'm having a nasty problem trying to get Xvnc and KDM (running on the
same host) to play nicely together.  I am able to get the greeter
displayed in the VNC session, but when I log on the user session gets a
slightly different XAUTHORITY file that doesn't work.
