akonadi suddenly won't start

Running 64-bit Kubuntu 13.04, completely up-to-date.

Suddenly this morning akonadi won't start. It worked fine yesterday.

Normally one starts to debug things by looking at the first error, but that's
not proven to be a very useful approach to akonadi stuff in the past, since
it's so pervasive. Anyway, the first set of errors above seem to be related to
dbus, but they aren't very helpful at suggesting what might be wrong and how
to fix it.

FWIW, I have rebooted (twice) but the above set of errors is consistent. I
repeat that this all worked yesterday. Goodness knows what it thinks has changed.
