kde notifications - can't stop running action

i'm using kde 4.4.2 on ubuntu lucid and i can't seem to figure out how
i can stop an action currently in progress.
as an example i provide a simple action "copy files from location A to
location B" and progress is shown as expected but there are no options
to cancel this action.
