As far as images to the list are concerned, it's a matter of size.  Mostly you 
don't need too accurate colouring, so the way around it is to open your image 
in GIMP and reduce the colours to 16.  That generally creates an image good 
enough for what you want to show, and small enough to get through the lists' 
filters.
