I do :-)  but in this case I had downloaded (bought from Magnatune) some .wav 
files.  They were big enough to buy me some space until I found the culprit.

It's ~/.xsession-errors.  I'm a bit worried about this.  I have disabled both 
nepomuk and strigi in systemservices, yet ~/.xsession-services seems to be 
filling up with comments relating to them.  A clean boot gives me a 4KB file.  
Now, after just over 1.5 hours, it's 129.8KB.  I could pastebin it, if someone 
thought it useful.
