phonon problems

When compiling everything from source, should I build qt with phonon support or leave it out and use KDE's phonon instead? Should I just do both and let KDE overwrite whatever QT originally installs? I'm fighting with qtscriptgenerator and cannot make it compile. It keeps failing with phonon, but I do not have qt phonon installed.

Appreciate any advice, help, or head slapping...
