Permanently maximize the panel in KDE4?

Hi,

Is there a way to permanently maximize the panel at the bottom of the
screen? It has a "maximize" option, which works until I change
resolutions. When I switch to a higher resolution, it is still the
width of the lower resolution. I have to resize it every time. I can
alight it to the left, center, or right, but not maximized.

Is there a way to tell it to stay maximized, or is anyone aware of
plans to add that feature? (I'm using KDE 4.3 latest RC)
