floppy trouble

Hello !

my floppy cannot be mounted ??? not as user and not as root.
/etc/fstab is settled and fixed - should run ...

can this be ??? : it is apparently a double-sided floppy-drive for 2x 1440
floppies.
means the old cable does not work with this new floppy ??? have to take then
a new floppy-cable ???

maybe offtopic but it concerns kfloppy too ! this tool does not work either
...
