Lost dcopserver?

For the last couple of hours I've been struggling with this laptop working on
a wireless connection (which is unchanged so far as I know from when it
worked normally). I can get my email from my local imap server, but I cannot
reach the internet. resolve.conf shows the correct dns server entries.
I'm not sure just what brought it up, but I have a dialogue box that tells me
that "There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE.
The message returned by the system was:
Could not read network connection list.
/root/.DCOPserver_anne-wireless.lydgate.lan_0
Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running!"
What has gone wrong, and what must I do about it?
Is this connected with my Internet problem, or something entirely different?
Anne
