kwallet in kde4

kde 4.0.4, Mandriva.  I need some passwords that are in my old kwallet.  I 
copied the wallet into /.kde4/share/apps/kwallet, but it doesn't appear to be 
recognised.

I opened kwalletmanager, and it doesn't seem to see the wallet.  I asked it to 
create a new wallet, but I can't see any evidence that the wallet is being 
created.  Any advice?  Thanks
