khotkeys not working in KDE4?

Does anyone have khotkeys working in KDE4?

1. It does not start by default, although "systemsettings" claims it's 
running - I have to start "khotkeys" manually

2. I can't add any new actions to it. For example, I want to launch 
"kaffeine -f DVB" after pressing "Home Page" (XF86HomePage) button. It 
doesn't work, even after configuring in "systemsettings", 
killing/starting "khotkeys" etc.

To make things worse, it is not very consistent. Sometimes, the 
configured application starts after pressing the button; but after 
logging out / logging in again (or restarting khotkeys), it doesn't work 
any more.


Does anyone have khotkeys running properly with KDE4? I.e., being able 
to define custom actions and launch programs?
