Dolphin took over my KDE 3

It's Gentoo (that means KDE gets compiled from source).  It's configured 
correctly as far as I can tell (KDE 3 is in /usr/kde/3.5 and KDE 4 in /usr).

Maybe I did something wrong, dunno.  I am running KDE 3 apps inside KDE 
4 and vice versa.  Is this a no-no?
