[KDE 4.1.3] Broken fonts with DejaVu Sans

Using DejaVu Sans in Systems Settins results in font rendering problems. 
  Example:

Note how "F", "i" and "r" are running together.  This happens in a lot 
of cases, but only in the task bar and menus.
