KDM doesn't want to start KDE

Look at the section of your log below. The are several lines wit errors 
starting with module r128 not being detected. This is required for ATI Rage 
128 based video cards. I suspect that your /etc/X11/xorg.conf is not correct 
or if it is you are missing the module r128.o.

I'd start with that.
