ical support in Kmail

It does. The way I know how to do it is in the calendar view in Kontact, 
choose 'Add Calendar' from the bottom left, then choose 'Calendar in Remote 
File'. Add the url for the ical file you want to download from, set any other 
options you want and click ok.
