Trouble with KDVI

I've a problem with kdvi,
for, if I try to see a dvi file
generated by "latex file.tex",
I see only some black rectangles.
Message from console:
samiel at darkstar: kdvi prova.dvi
QApplication::notify: Unespected null receiver
kdvi: ERROR: DOcumentPageCache::sizeOfPageInPixel( 0 )
called with invalid argument
Do u know what's the matter?
