I use text view almost exclusively and I have reproduced this with KDE 
3.5.1 as supplied by Suse 10.1. I never noticed it before because I 
usually select multiple files with control-click or shift-click rather 
than by dragging. If you do it with control-click or shift-click you do 
not see the problem - only when you select by dragging.
