It's the bash scripting language. "&&" means to execute the command on the 
left and if it is successful execute the command on the right. Before i 
replied to you i had tried something similar but used ";" (semicolon) 
instead of "&&". The only difference using the semicolon is that continue 
with the command on the right even if the command on the left fails.

You might want to pick up some guide on bash scripting to lean more. It is 
quite powerful! :-)
