default e-mail application

OOo is not a native KDE application so I'm not too surprised 
it doesn't respect KDE's setting.  You may want to report 
this as a bug or feature request against OOo.
 
I think for now you'll have to set this seperately in OOo.  
There is an option for it in the version I have installed (2.0.1): 
In the Options dialog:  Internet -> Email
(I haven't used this, though ...)
