KDevelop is IO heavy on startup

(SuSE 9.1, KDE 3.4, KDevelop 3.2)

Hi all,

When I start KDevelop, I have to wait around 30 seconds while it loads
my project. It isn't a particulariy huge project, just WordPress [1]
with a few extra files, so around 100 PHP files? During this time my
hard-drive LED on the front of my PC is flashing like crazy so I
figure it's doing something. In fact, I know it is because my music
starts to skip and everything slows down.

This doesn't just happen at startup, it happens whenever I open
another folder using the File Tree.

Anyone come across anything like this before?
