kdm font size (and other) issues

Two problems with kdm:

1)  At the login screen, the input fields are very small, as are all the
fonts.  On top of that, my cursor is larger than it is after I login.  How
do I remedy that?

2)  I like to use that option where kdm will display icons for certain users
and you can login by clicking the icon.  The problem is, it doesn't show
the icons unless I add the user _after_ I turned that option on.  Hmm,
maybe this is a bug and should be reported...?
