kde menu entries

I installed Mozilla FireFox on my Gentoo system. It
installed:

/usr/share/applications/mozillafirefox.desktop
/usr/share/pixmaps/firefox-icon.png

The desktop file shows:

cat /usr/share/applications/mozillafirefox.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Mozilla Firefox
Comment=Web Browser
Exec=/usr/bin/firefox %U
Icon=firefox-icon.png
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Application;Network;

I do see firefox in "Internet" menu, but there is no
icon. Why is that?

Is KDE 3.3.2 looking somewhere else for the icon? Why
would they put it in /usr/share/pixmaps??
