change KMenu icon

Look into /usr/kde/3.4/share/icons/default.kde/<size>

There you'll find the kmenu.png - you can put whatever icon you want there and 
overwrite the original kmenu.png (do this for all sizes you need - normally 
32x32 and 64x64 I think)
