artsd overload

Every once in a while my artsd starts to take up 97% CPU usage. My computer 
huffs and puffs its fan for about 5 minutes; and I have no sound. All of a 
sudden i get an error message that "sound daeom caused a CPU overlaod" and I 
get all the sounds that should have been played in the past 5 mintues flying 
out of my speakers in one big mess.
