KOrganizer default appointment setting not working

I have installe Mandriva 10.2 which has KOrganizer 3.3.1
The default appointment duration is set to one hour, but this setting is
ignored. No matter what I set in the default appointment duration, a new
appointment will always be set to 15 minutes, unless I change it manually
for each new appointment.
Any ideas ?
