quick question about desktop text

To get to this option, right click on the desktop and select Configure 
Desktop. On the background settings page, there is an Advanced Options button 
underneath the image of a monitor - click on that, and the Background Icon 
Text options are about halfway down that dialog :) I guess you'd want to 
untick 'Enable shadow'
