special keys on a Sony VAIO

Hi

I have a Sony VAIO laptop which has various special keys. I am running
Debian SID with both Gnome and KDE, kernel 2.6.9.

I installed spicctrl and a sonykey deamon which works fine in Gnome - it
lets me use various FN key combinations and the special CD 'eject'
button (software controled).

But in KDE, I just get a 'Unhandled Event: 27' signal which pops up
momentarily but nothing happens. If I try and use the KHotKeys in the
Control Center, it doesn't recognise any of the FN or special button key
strokes, I just get the pop up message...

Has any one any idea how to associate special keys in KDE, remember it
works in Gnome so it's not a hardware issue...

Thanks
Steve
