For those of you who were following this thread:

After supplying some further info Codeweavers thinks they may have solved this 
problem. To quote:

"I  believe I have found the source of the problem and have a fix for it. The 
fix is a bit involved so the best is for you to try out 5.0.1 when it comes 
out (soon) and let me know if the problem persists."
