How to restart or refresh kde destop

Is there someway provided in kde-3.5 to restart or refresh desktop
without logging out.

Something that would reread init files such as .xbindkeysrc.

I find that any additions in terms of new not edited addition, to
.xbindkeysrc is noticed with a simple running of `xbindkeys' but any
edits of existing keycombos are not picked up by running `xbindkeys'.
Seems to requre a full restart of kde desktop.

How can I accomplish that within a session?
