Split View missing in KDE 3.4, Kate and Kdevelop

I'm guessing by "split view" you mean "tab page mode." Anyway, I'm glad to see 
that there are more than just two of us that are going a little nuts about 
this. I joined this list specifically because of that problem. Anders Lund 
made a bug report:

I dunno that I could. I haven't upgraded my laptop to the new KDE for this 
reason! I'm going mad!
