kontact crashes

Kontact crashes numerous times each day,  backtrace results don't seem to 
help. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to correct it?
KDE 3.4, Kmail 1.7.

This backtrace appears to be of no use.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents 
creation of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in 
the crash.
