Socks configuration

After dealing a while with socks I configured the dante socks client by 
creating the /etc/socks.conf file. Now I get connection to the MSN, Yahoo, 
Jabber and ICQ networks with Kopete thru the socks5 server but I can't chat. 

The messages I send are not echoed on my chat window and are not received by 
my chat partners, also any message sent by them does not apear in my chat 
window.

I get this errors in the log files:

KDE: socketoptdup(): setsockopt(0, 32): Invalid argument (errno = 22)

Any Ideas??

The mail seems to work fine via socks server.
