Changing Shape or Width of "kmenu.png" ?

Thanks for the help with finding the icon that represents the "Start" 
button in KDE.

I find now that it's limited to a square shape I would like to use one 
that is more oblong.

Is it possible to easily modify this location on the taskbar to accept a 
graphic that isn't just square?

I have attached the one I would like to use.  I don't know if this list 
accepts attachments.
