Taskbar instable behaviour

Hi,

In SUSE 9.2 with KDE 3.3 The taskbar on the right where the active
elements like the clock, clipboard, Profile, Sound, SuSE Watcher and
Hardware Tool  lives expands itself to almost half the screen, showing
only 2-3 of the 6-7 icons present. It is as if there are 10 spaces
between the icons (only in the right hand panel). How can these icons be
controlled?
