arts started by kde doesn't work

Hi,

since I have updgraded to KDE3.3.2, I get no sound out of arts.
Only after killing it and restarting. I have tried arts 1.3.1 and 1.3.2

"Sound system" is set to ALSA

someone got any clues about this?
