freetype

I installed in Slackware 10.0 the new KDE 3.3.2.
However, I continue to have a problem with Freeetype 2.1.9.
When I try to open the font installer from control center,
I receive an error message:

/opt/kde/lib/libkfontinst.so.0:
undefined symbol: FTC_SBit_Cache_Lookup
---------------------------------------------------------

How is it possible to solve this persistent trouble?
