Problem with KMail

I would keep the permissions at 700 but I don't want others reading my mail. 
Other than that the only other thing I can think of is to be sure you are who 
you think you are ... 

[fabien at localhost Mail]$ chown -R fabien.fabien *
[fabien at localhost Mail]$ id -u
[fabien at localhost Mail]$ id -g
[fabien at localhost Mail]$ ls -n

I don't think this is the problem but it has happened to me when I started 
using LDAP for authentication. I'm out of good ideas. Probably worthless 
idea... You could create new directories and copy the cur/ new/ tmp/ maildir 
folders into the new directory. 

[fabien at localhost Mail]$ mkdir new-inbox
[fabien at localhost Mail]$ cp -R inbox/* new-inbox
[fabien at localhost Mail]$ mv inbox /tmp
[fabien at localhost Mail]$ mv new-inbox inbox
