Odd problem with KWrite

I have KWrite set as the default text editor; however, something odd is
happening with it. If I double click on a plain text file in Konqueror,
two or more blank KWrite windows open, but none includes the file I
double clicked on. If I run "kwrite filename" from a terminal, it works
fine.

Any ideas how to fix this?
