kpat not working on KDE-3.1.4

Hi list,

I have 3.1.4 compiled from source (Linux) with QT-3.2.1 (now upgraded to 
3.2.2), and everytime I start kpat, I get a lot of the following error 
messages, and I only get an empty mainWidget.
Any idea what can be wrong ?

KImageEffect::intensity : invalid image
