Well, if there's already an app, it's always better to go on developing that 
one.
For the DVD burn app... I think it would be like a plug in for K3B... so, you 
can develop it on your own as a separate app with your rules... but if you 
want it to be included in K3B when it is ready, you'll have to complain with 
some of their rules.
