I am trying to connect using terminal login. After username and password I get
a response
Entering PPP Session
IP address is 172.XX.XXX.XXX
MTU is 1524
I click on Continue and kppp reports that pppd stopped unexpectedly. Clicking
Details shows the pppd log file to be empty and the diagnosis is `Unable to
provide help'. I cannot find any evidence that pppd ever started. pppd is in
/usr/sbin and is suid. /etc/ppp/options is empty. Trying variations with
script connection doesn't make any difference. The kppp manual and faq
doesn't help. Could someone please suggest where I might be going wrong.
Keith Harwood.
