Problem with sound system. (2nd try)

I play a little clik sound when I move from one window to another. The 
second click can't happen unless a delay of about one second happens 
first. IOW, if I move from W1 to W2 to W1 very quickly, I only hear one 
click per second. This used to click up a storm.

kde-3.1.1 with a SoundblasterLive! card.

Do I need to adjust some settings? Can someone tell me what settings I 
should be using?
