kde startup hangs when no network

When I disconnect my machine from the network, kde doesn't startup anymore.
The Startup stops at connected devices (I'm a german kde user : 
"angeschlossene Geräte").
Why is that? That's a bit frightening, I don't have a idea what tries to 
access the network without telling me! Is it a root-kit or is this some 
homecalling stuff in kde?
