movie preview in kdemultimedia -3.1.1 question

movie preview in kdemultimedia-3.1.1 has been removed due to severe 
instability problems according to the kde team.  i am using kdemultimedia-3.1 
and i have enabled movie previews. i have a lot of movies on my harddisk and 
my kde is stable. im using the arts_xine_plugin with the lates xine-lib. i 
was wondering on what kind of instability problems they were having or they 
had?
