The '*.desktop" files conform to the standard at:

http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/desktop-entry-spec/0.9.4-onehtml/

But this does not document the KDE extensions.

I don't know if there is any documentation for the: "*rc" files, but I would 
like to see it as well.
