Change icon of start menu (kicke)

Hi there,

i realy don't like the K that stands for the start menu. Is it possible to
change it? I'd like to place my own button there that has a different length
(pretty much like the windows start button).

Also, is it possible to make the start menu look like in W2K, so  that the
1st level uses huge icons while deeper levels use small icons?

I STFW but couldn't find an answer yet.
