kmail - from command-line

Hello.

I am using MDK8.2 / KDE 3.1.0(RCS) kmail 1.5

I'd like to invoke kmail from a cron job to send a standard
email notification, so I had a look at kmail --help

This allows for the setting-up of a composer window with subject,
message text and destination address, but does not seem to provide
a command-line switch to send the message & exit kmail.
I assume that there is something that does that, as a command line
interface is not too useful without - not too obvious where it is though...
Anybody cast any light please?

R.
